I had never built a home from the ground up before. Building my first home with Nicholson Companies was a great experience. The project started by working with the owner Tom Nicholson in designing our dream home. Once we got the plans done and permits applied for, Curt the Project Manager took over. Curt told me from the first day on the job that he was going to treat this project like it was his own home and that he and his family were going to live in it. He was meticulous about the details and it showed when we got to move into the home. After completing the project, I truly feel he honored that promise he made to me day one. Tom and his entire team worked very hard to make us happy home owners. They were very thorough, detailed, on time, every step of the way. The house was built with an unbelievable indoor/outdoor experience including a pool with spectacular views of the entrance to Newport Harbor and Balboa both day and night. One of the most enjoyable benefits of the new home is the overall house livability. The quality of finishes is superb and everyone who has come into the home has fallen in love with it. If you are thinking about building a house on the Southern California coast, definitely call Nicholson Companies!

Tom Nicholson is an easy builder to work with and we loved the original home he built for us... so much so that we bought a second, updated home from him seven years after purchasing the first. Our home in Kahala is an oasis in the neighborhood. It is current, but not “trendy”. It lives well and draws compliments about its style and layout from every guest we have. Tom worked with us to personalize the home as it was being built and it shows. Every room seems to meld to the outside views/landscape in a dramatic fashion. The layout of the home is superb. It never feels too big when we are at home alone, but there is always a lot of space for our guests when we open the guest rooms for them. If we could pick this home up and move it to the mainland as a second residence, we would do it without hesitation. Need a recommendation for a home builder? Tom is our guy!
